Subscription & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how membership billing and cancellation work for The Illuminated Word, operated by Ashley Cacamis.

1. Plans and prices

We offer two membership plans, both billed monthly and auto-renewing:

• Individual — $4.99/month for one member.
• Group — $49.99/month for a group of up to 12. One leader pays and invites up to 11 others with an invite code; the leader and all invited members receive full member access.

Tax, if applicable, is added by the billing processor.

2. Auto-renewal

Your membership renews automatically each month until you cancel. The recurring charge appears as Base44 Payments on your statement.

3. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation is immediate: your member access ends when you cancel, and no further charges are made. For a group membership, the leader’s cancellation ends access for the leader and all invited members, and no further charges are made.

An invited group member may leave the group at any time from their account; their member access ends immediately, and the leader is not charged differently.

4. Effect of cancellation

After cancellation, you keep the free reading, search, and historical features. Member-only tools (studies, notes, journals, study groups, cross-edition comparison, and the verse-of-the-day reflection) become unavailable.

5. Price changes

If the membership price changes, we will notify you before the next renewal. You may cancel before the new price takes effect.

6. Failed payments

If a payment fails, we may retry it. If it cannot be completed, your membership may be paused until payment is resolved.

7. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which offers a 7-day full refund on membership fees.

8. Payment processing

Payments are processed by Base44 Payments. We do not store your full card number.

9. Group membership

A group membership has one leader who pays $49.99/month and holds one invite code. The leader may invite up to 11 other members (12 total, including the leader). Invited members join with the code and receive full member access while the group subscription remains active. Only the leader is billed. The leader may regenerate the invite code or remove members at any time; any member may leave at any time. If the group subscription is canceled or ends, access ends for the leader and all members.
